The overcast clouds drifted and the sun shone at Manning Valley BMX Club on Sunday as 465 riders battled in conditions heavily affected by prior downpours.
It was the fourth instalment of the 2022 AusCycling BMX State and Territory Series - ACT/NSW and with just three rounds remaining, the competition is ramping up.
Leading the way was Ashmore’s (QLD) Brad Game who claimed his first Superclass Men victory of this series.
Game avoided dropping a moto on the day and managed to set the fastest time of the event in the final to take home the maximum number of points on offer.
Noah Elton, who won the Superclass Men category at Batemans Bay in May, took out second while Sydney’s Alex Cameron clinched third.
In her first appearance of this year’s series, Tahlia Marsh (Clarence Valley BMX Club) proved best of the Superclass Women.
Marsh went undefeated after the opening moto while Castle Hill’s Gemma-lee Thomas put in another strong performance to bag her third second-place finish of the competition.
Thomas remains first in the overall rankings with Zoe Cooper (Terrigal BMX Club) sitting close in second after coming third this round.
Cooper Fox (Southlake/Illawarra BMX Club) and Charlotte Guy (Ashmore BMX Club – QLD) claimed their maiden wins in the 2022 ACT/NSW State Series in the junior men’s and junior women’s superclass respectively.
We would also like to recognise the hard work displayed by the club and volunteers who put in countless hours to make the track raceable. This also goes the same for those who are continuing to restore their tracks in order to welcome back riders.
