It is set to be another big weekend for ACT track riders in Sydney at the Dunc Gray Velodrome.
Earlier this week, Cycling NSW and AusCycling agreed to host a face-to-face round of NJTS this weekend after Victoria’s snap lockdown forced the event away from Melbourne.
The decision, although unfortunate, enables the ACT's junior track stars of the future to double up and compete at the Clarence St Cyclery Cup, which has been integrated into the weekend's program.
Ten Cycling NSW State Championships will also be decided during the weekend across Para, Elite and Junior categories.
ACT's first competitors for the weekend will be the Canberra Cycling Club trio of Mathew Mooney, Jamie Green and Daniel Rickard in the 2021 NSW Club Team Sprint Championships
The 2020 Elite National Team Sprint bronze medal-winning trio of Felice Beitzel (Canberra CC), Claudia Marcks (Canberra CC) and Lily Stratford (Vikings CC) will also come together to form Team ACT in the women's category.
In the Cycling NSW Elite Madison Championships, Canberra CC's Sean Whitfield will compete with Sam Layzell (NSW) for Oliver's Real Food Racing.
The Canberra Combine NJTS team enter Round 3 off the back of strong results virtually in Round 2 in Adelaide and Brisbane.
Newly crowned Junior National Criterium Champion Cameron Rogers (Canberra CC) will also be competing in the 2021 NSW U19 & Elite Omnium and Scratch Championships as well as the Clarence St Cyclery Cup.
