2024 Canberra Junior & Womens Tour

Round 1 of the 2024 Santini Under 19 National Road Series and Round 2 of the NSW and ACT Junior Road Series, the Canberra Junior & Womens Tour is going to be two action packed days of racing. Consisting of 4 Stages, the event will host a Time Trial, Road Race, Criterium and Kermesse.

Race Schedule 

Date: 25 May 2024

Stage 1 - Criterium

Location: Stromlo Forest Park

It will be a fast a furious race around the Stephen Hodge Criterium Circuit. Riders will be racing the criterium in a clockwise direction. Spectators can view the entire course and cheer on their favourite riders.

 

Stage 2 - Road Race

Location: Stromlo Forest Park West Carpark

Start Time: Individual Category start times to be advised. 

Under 9 Road Race Start/Finish: Stromlo Forest Park Criterium Track

Course: Due to safety concerns, the road race will be held on the Crit track and include 3 laps (4km)

Under 11 Road Race Start/Finish: Stromlo Forest Park Criterium Track

Course: Due to safety concerns, the road race will be held on the Crit track and include 7 laps (8km).

 

Under 13 Road Race Start/Finish: Stromlo Forest Park - Western Carpark

Course: Out and back along Uriarra Road See (16km)

Under 15 Road Race Start/Finish: Stromlo Forest Park - Western Carpark

Under 19 Women & Women’s A & B Grade Road Race Start/Finish: Stromlo Forest Park - Western Carpark

Course: Out along Uriarra Road to Condor Creek. Turn 1 - U-Turn around at Condor Creek (End of Bitumen). Turn 2 - U-Turn at Brindabella Road Junction. Turn 3 - U-Turn around at Condor Creek (End of Bitumen) and return to Stromlo Forest Park Western Carpark (70km)

Under 19 Men Road Race Start/Finish: Stromlo Forest Park - Western Carpark

Course: Out along Uriarra Road to Condor Creek. Turn 1 - U-Turn around at Condor Creek (End of Bitumen). Turn 2 - U-Turn at Western side of Uriarra Crossing. Turn 3 - U-Turn around at Condor Creek (End of Bitumen) and return to Stromlo Forest Park Western Carpark (80km)

Stage 3 - Kermesse

Location: Stromlo Forest Park

Start Time: TBC

Take on a longer version of this off-road circuit for a challenging kermesse. Riders will be travelling in a anti-clockwise direction for this stage. 

 

Stage 4 - Time Trial 

Location: Stromlo Forest Park Western Carpark

Start Time: Individual start times to be advised. 

Time Trial

Under 9/11 Start/Finish: Stromlo Forest Park Criterium Track. Total distance 4km (2 laps of the criterium track with extension)

All other ages/grades Start/Finish: Stromlo Forest Park West Carpark.

Out and back course starting and finishing at Stromlo Forest Park West Carpark.

There will be variations of this course for different age groups. Further details will be published prior to the tour.

Weather Conditions

The event will proceed as planned unless the conditions are deemed to be unsafe by the Race Organiser and Chief Commissaire on the morning of the event.

Refund Policy

Entry Refund Any rider (entered into an AusCycling) who wishes to receive a refund more than 8 days prior to the event may do so by withdrawing by scratching themselves via their EntryBoss account. Any rider seeking a refund must submit a doctor's certificate to AusCycling. All refund requests should be sent to [email protected]. Refunds will be processed in line with the AusCycling Refund Policy
