The final round of the 2023 AusCycling Downhill National Series played out in perfect condition at Eagle MTB Park in Adelaide with host club Inside Line Mountain Bike Club putting on a perfect course.
Not only the race winner but a series winner was going to be crowned on finals day after qualifying was held on Saturday.
Local knowledge went a long way for Connor Fearon in the elite men category with the hometown rider stopping the clock at 02:38.810 only a second quicker than Troy Brosnan who would take silver while Joshua Button claimed third.
Meanwhile in the elite women, Cassie Voysey claimed her first win of the series after picking up minor placings in the opening two rounds.
The New South Wales rider kept it rubber side down on the Eagle MTB course which blew out on the final day of racing.
Elise Empey was more than a second back while Lia Ladbrook who finished with the silver at the National Championships in Thredbo last month rounded out the podium.
Kael Foale and Sacha Mills also stood top of the podium at Adelaide in the junior category.
The duo made it a clean sweep be crowned overall series winners, and also backed up their gold medal winning performance at the National Championships last month.
