Australia has had another strong day in the BMX Challenge in Glasgow, with 10 riders in green-and-gold progressing through to their finals overnight.
Overcast conditions greeted competitors on the second day of the event at the Glasgow BMX Centre, which included Cruiser 30+ classes and 20-inch 8, 9, 10, 11 categories.
The highlight of the finals came in the Boys 11 event, where Jayden Bradbrook (Cross Keys BMX) and Hudson Daley (Moranbah BMX) lined up for Australia.
Positioned behind the leader on the second straight, Bradbrook took a perfect line into the second corner, shooting into the lead and holding on for the win. Daley also rode exceptionally well, taking home a ‘W4’ plate.
Bradbrook described the day’s racing as “fun” and said he was pleased to go under the leader on the second berm, saying to himself at the time, “Yes, I’ve got him.”
Bradbrook added that he felt “really happy” when he crossed the line, and thanked his father for helping him win the race.
AusCyling can also share that all riders who crashed during the day are recovering well.
The BMX Challenge continues tomorrow with 20-inch 12, 13, 14, 15 racing.
