Dwellingup to host 2023 UCI Masters Mountain Bike World Championship

The worlds best age group mountain bikers are heading to Dwellingup, Western Australia in September 2023 to participate in the UCI Masters Mountain Bike Marathon Championships.

Dwellingup has hosted the Act Belong Commit Dwellingup 100 for the past 14 years; in that time the event has developed into one of Australia’s major mountain bike events, consistently attracting over 1,000 riders.

AusCycling CEO, Marne Fechner celebrated the event coming to Western Australia, "The UCI Masters Marathon World Championships is another showcase of the unique and world-class trails we have in this country.

"It's also a rare and wonderful opportunity for an athlete to compete for the rainbow stripes on their home trails. So, to those Aussie riders who get that chance to tackle the Dwellingup course and to the international competitors and everyone involved, good luck, enjoy your experience."

The Event Team Managing Director Gemma Dale said “hosting the event is an honour, it’s a tribute to the town of Dwellingup, the trail network in the area and the Act Belong Commit Dwellingup 100’s reputation as world class event.

The Championship are expected to attract over 1,000 interstate and international visitors and will deliver considerable financial tourism benefits, increased profile, and employment to the local community.

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (Parks and Wildlife) have developed a world class network of trails in Dwellingup that showcase the regions unique characteristics, this has contributed to a significant growth in mountain biking and hiking.

Hosting the UCI Masters Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships will provide an opportunity to promote the Dwellingup trail network to a national and global audience.
