In partnership with Inside Line and GESA, AusCycling delivered an Intro To Gravity session at Fox Creek in Adelaide recently.
The aim was to connect the participation of students in the recently concluded School Sport SA MTB event through to club development.
Three coaches, Greg Hutchinson , Eddie Herft and John O'Brien were at the disposal of rider guiding them through the difference between enduro and downhill riding.
Riders were taken through basic cornering techniques and bunny hop exercises.
Before hitting some of Fox Creek's more difficult sections, including "Bowl" which has a fairly technical left hand drop corner that has three line options.
Riders then had their chance to put their cornering and jumping to good use finishing off the day at Allens Orange Whip and into Blue Groove.
The aim of the session was to lower the barrier to entry into the sport and hold a new participant's hand every step of the way for a smooth transition.
The second session will take place on June 25.
Participants will be encouraged to take part in a recon ride on July 2 at an Inside Line racing event.
The day wouldn't have been a success without the assistance from Forestry SA and Rubberside Down.
