Venue Information
- The 3 days of competition will take place at the Dunc Gray Velodrome, Carysfield Road, Bass Hill
- All attendees are strongly encouraged to wear face masks while not training on the track and in settings where social distancing cannot be maintained
- DO NOT attend if you are COVID-19 positive or if have symptoms of COVID-19
- DO NOT move any chairs, tables, fences, bike racks or other furniture
- DO NOT cough, spit or sneeze near or onto others. Singing and shouting is not permitted while inside the venue
- Please keep at least 1.5 metres away from others at all times except when actually training on the track
- Please use the provided hand sanitiser regularly throughout the event
- Please bring a payWave or PayPass-equipped debit/credit card or phone for payment as we can no longer accept cash
- Please follow the NSW Public Health Orders and NSW Health guidelines at all times
- Please Note: Due to rainfall over the past few days: The elevator on-site is currently out of order. There also may still be some standing water on the track infield. We ask all patrons to please exercise caution particularly when coming on and off the track
- Please park in allocated parking bays. Do not park on grass (you will get bogged)
Handler entry fee: $10 NB: One handler per rider only
Spectator entry fee: $10 - Adult. $5 - Children 16 years and under
Warm-Up and Pre-event training
Please note the track will be closed for training on the mornings of competition as staff must prepare the track for competition.
- Track will be open for warm-up 1 hour prior to competition each day, and additional open track warm-up time may be permitted during breaks throughout the event at the discretion of Race Director and Chief Commissare.
- All riders MUST wear race numbers during warm-up sessions
- Please stick to "Low Slow and Fast High" with faster riders staying above the blue line
- A 30-minute session will be held exclusively for riders who have not yet ridden on a 42° wooden track on Friday afternoon at 2:30pm. If you wish to attend this session please email [email protected]
Food and Coffee
Binny from the Mafia of Coffee will be in attendance for the duration of the event. Please do support a great supporter of cycling and please bring cash
Technical Regulations
The Championships will be run in accordance with, but not limited to, the following technical regulations:
If you wish to withdraw from any event throughout the Championship you MUST inform the Race Director with 1 hours notice prior to the event you are withdrawing from
Age Categories & Eligibility
- The NSW Team Sprint Championships are open to U17 through to Elite & PARA aged riders
- U15 riders will be offered a Non-Championship 3 person Team Sprint event
- Age Categories for this event are as per 2022 ages effective from 1st October 2021
- This event is not open to Temporary memberships
- All riders entering a State Open event must be covered by a Full Race Membership with AusCycling
- AusCycling NSW Championship medals will be awarded
Event Classification, Presentation & Prizes
- This event will be held as an "Open Championships"
- Medals awarded to the first 3 place getters of each event
- First rider across the line in each category who's primary AusCycling club is in New South Wales will be declared the State Champion
- Non-New South Wales members may ride in events, but are not eligible for the NSW State Champion title
- Please refer to AusCycling Technical Regulations - Section 2.02-2.03 for further information
- AusCycling Championship Medals awarded for all events
- Presentations will take place periodically throughout the event (please refer to event schedule)
- Riders are asked to please promptly present for medal presentations in their cycling uniform
- Hats, headwear and sunglasses are NOT permitted to be worn on the podium during presentations
Teams Events Rules and Regulations
The Following rules will be applied for the 2022 Club Team Sprint and Team Pursuit Championship - New South Wales:
UCI Track Regulations “3.2.149 Teams shall be made up of riders entered for this event. The composition of a team may be
modified from one heat to another. An incomplete team may not take the start. The team manager must notify the commissaires
of any changes at least 30 minutes before the relevant competition round start.
- Up to six riders may be nominated for a team
- If a club is unable to form a team due to insufficient riders, they can apply to AusCycling for permission to nominate a U/15, U/17 or U/19 member to compete one category higher than their age category. They may ride the gearing for the higher age group for that event only
- If a club is still unable to form a team, clubs may apply to form a composite team. Composite teams can win Championship Medals provided they can demonstrate they cannot form a team within the above outlined parameters
- Eligibility for NSW Championship medals will be at the discretion of AusCycling & the NSW Technical Delegate
- If a team has one or more riders compete who do NOT list their primary AusCycling club as a New South Wales club - The team will be ineligible for a medal
