State Competition

Albury Wodonga Cycling Club are proud to present the 35th John Woodman Memorial Wagga To Albury Cycling Classic.  The event is run in the memory of John Woodman, an exceptional cyclist who was tragically killed while training in 1986.

This iconic race runs through the undulating countryside between Wagga Wagga and Albury for 131km.  It has been won by many terrific cyclists including multiple Grand Tour Stage Winner, Michael Matthews in 2008.

A handicap race of this distance challenges even the hardiest of cyclists- and beware if the cross winds begin to blow.  Be a part of one of the few point to point handicap races left on the NSW Cycling Calendar.

Technical Regulations

Events will be run according to AusCycling Technical Regulations

From 1 January 2022, the rollout of 7.93 metres will apply to Under 19 riders at all AusCycling sanctioned events. Under 19 riders are permitted to use ‘blocking off’ (by the adjustment of the derailleur or other means) to restrict the roll out distance to 7.93 metres at all events.

At national- and state-level events, there is a high expectation on commissaires to ensure that every rider is meeting the gear restrictions. So please expect the potential requirement of roll-out prior and/or post event this weekend Please click here for further information on this matter
