BMX Racing | State/Territory Series

The BMX State & Territory Series is a critical part of the BMX Competition Structure. These events also form a key component of the AusCycling BMX National Cup.

BMX State/Territory Series Qualification and Points Calculation

Due to the change in the schedule and a reduction of rounds as a result of government restrictions in the ACT/NSW and VIC, the series qualification and points calculation has been adjusted. There will be no change to the BMX State/Territory Series qualification or points calculation in the NT, QLD, SA, TAS or WA. For clarity each State/Territory is outlined below.

  • Series Qualification - No Series Qualification Required
  • Points Calculation - Will include all State Series rounds conducted, minus 1.
    For clarity, this equates to the highest points obtained over a maximum of 4 rounds.
  • Series Qualification - Must participate in 5 of 7 rounds
  • Points Calculation - The maximum number of rounds where points can be used for the series calculation is equal to the number of rounds used for qualification. For clarity in the NT this equates to the highest points obtained over a maximum of 5 rounds.
  • Series Qualification - Must participate in 4 of 6 rounds
  • Points Calculation - The maximum number of rounds where points can be used for the series calculation is equal to the number of rounds used for qualification. For clarity in QLD this equates to the highest points obtained over a maximum of 4 rounds.
  • Series Qualification - Must participate in 5 of 7 rounds
  • Points Calculation - The maximum number of rounds where points can be used for the series calculation is equal to the number of rounds used for qualification. For clarity in SA this equates to the highest points obtained over a maximum of 5 rounds.
  • Series Qualification - Must participate in 4 of 6 rounds
  • Points Calculation - The maximum number of rounds where points can be used for the series calculation is equal to the number of rounds used for qualification. For clarity in TAS this equates to the highest points obtained over a maximum of 4 rounds.
  • Series Qualification - No Series Qualification Required
  • Points Calculation - Will include all State Series rounds conducted, minus 1.
    For clarity, as it currently stands with 4 rounds scheduled, this equates to the highest points obtained over a maximum of 3 rounds.
    Should the final round be unable to go ahead, this equates to the highest points obtained over a maximum of 2 rounds.
  • Series Qualification - Must participate in 6 of 8 rounds, including 2 of 3 regional rounds
  • Points Calculation - The maximum number of rounds where points can be used for the series calculation is equal to the number of rounds used for qualification. For clarity in WA this equates to the highest points obtained over a maximum of 6 rounds.

Frequently Asked Questions 

State & Territory Series awards will be presented in all categories that count towards series points (for clarity, this does not include Sprockets or Mini Wheelers). The BMX State & Territory Series awards include:

  • Medals (1st-3rd)
  • Presentation Plates (1st-8th)

Please Note: For variation to above awards in 2021 for Western Australia only, please refer to the WA Tech Guide.

All BMX State & Territory Series awards will be presented during the presentations at their relevant BMX State & Territory Championships. The exception is NT where they will be presented on Wednesday, 29 September (evening), and WA where they will be presented after Official Practice on Thursday, 30 September (evening).
