State Competition
UPDATE: 1/05/2024
It is with great disappointment that we have made the difficult decision to cancel our John Woodman Memorial Cycling Festival this weekend (4-5 May 2024).
To those that entered and offered support, we sincerely thank you!
Regrettably the entrant numbers were insufficient to allow the event to go ahead.
The effort (and cost) over a 12 month period to offer racing at this level is huge.
Refund to all entrants will occur via Entryboss.
The Board will undertake an evaluation of this race going forward.
We welcome suggestions/feedback from those that wish to provide, via email in the first instance to [email protected]. Should you wish to discuss, please advise via email and we will contact you.
Albury Wodonga Cycling Club are proud to present the SS&A 37th John Woodman Memorial Wagga to Albury Cycling Classic. The event is run in memory of John Woodman, an exceptional cyclist who was tragically killed whilst training in 1986.
This iconic race runs through the undulating countryside between Wagga Wagga and Albury for 131km. It has been won by many terrific cyclists including multiple Grand Tour Stage Winner, Michael Matthews in 2008.
A handicap race of this distance challenges even the hardiest of cyclists and beware if the cross winds begin to blow! Be a part of one of the few point to point handicap races left on the Australian Cycling Calendar.
Start Line: Neutral start from Tolland Hotel, to the official start on Holbrook Road adjacent to Jubilee Park
Finish Line: The race finish is on Urana Rd Jindera, 200m prior to the corner of the Walla Walla and Urana Rd. Jindera NSW 2642
Registration & Marshalling: Tolland Hotel, 245 Bourke St, Tolland NSW 2650
Registration: Sign-on Midday (closes at 1:10pm)
Race Start: 1:30pm
Grades: 4 Bunches (Scratch, Block, Group 3 & Limit)

In the case of this event, only approved JW19 riders will be eligible to enter and compete.
