Strong results for ACT trio at NJTS Round 2

A last-minute decision to travel to Adelaide proved a fruitful one for Canberra Cycling Club's Lauren Bates, who enjoyed a strong showing on the SuperDrome boards during virtual Round 2 of the National Junior Track Series.

Lauren finished inside the top five in all three of her JW17 events over the weekend and now sits in 3rd overall.

The promising teenager was joined by Vikings Cycling Club member Bailey Macdonald in Adelaide, who continued on from his positive results in Round 1 of the NJTS to also jump to 3rd overall in JM15.

Up in Brisbane's Anna Meares Velodrome, Angus Withington rode to three solid finishes in a deep JM15 field.

The young Canberra Cycling Club member had a best finish of 12th in the Time Trial and sits 21st overall.

A special mention to the work of NJTS ACT Coordinator Stuart Jones and the parents of all our ACT competitors.

Australia's ongoing border situation has made the logistics of our athletes competing in the NJTS a mammoth task and we applaud the dedication of Stuart in assisting parents and riders travelling to alternative venues.
