Rebecca McConnell (Primaflor Mondrakder Genuins) put on another dominating performance to ride away from the field on the first lap to secure her third successive XCO UCI MTB Mercedes-Benz World Cup at Nove Mesto in the Czech Republic.

The Canberra riders dream season continued as she took the win by 40 seconds over reigning World Cup champion Loana Lecomte (Canyon CLLCTV) and Jenny Rissveds (Team 31).

The Australian champion now leads the overall standings with 935 points, well ahead of Lecomte on 586.

In Friday’s XCC McConnell would finish second in a sprint finish to Jolanda Neff (Trek Factory Racing XC), but it would be enough to see her hold the overall series lead as well.

"Nové Město is always really good for me and I always seem to be able to get a really good performance here.

"Today I just had good legs and wanted to go with it,” said the Australian rider. “Now, we have a small break before the next round and it’ll be really nice to have this advantage to start the second half of the season.”

In the elite men Dan McConnell stormed his way up to a 30th place with Cam Ivory in 69th.

In the Under 23 women, Zoe Cuthbert cracked the top 10 riding her way to 9th place, with Katherine Hosking 29th, Izzy Flint 48th and Holly Lubcke 60th.

In U23 men, Sam Fox was 29th, Domenic Paolilli was 94th and Tom Cheesman was 105th. Isaac Fletcher came in 131st in the massive field.
