AusCycling to enshrine the athlete’s voice

Australia’s top riders – both past and present – will be invited to play a key role in the development of the sport across all disciplines.

The new High-Performance Athlete Committee will be comprised of up to nine current and former elite riders and will advise the AusCycling Board on a range of issues and policies that may impact the high-performance environment.

The committee will also provide advice and insight on how the Board’s strategic and policy decisions may impact elite pathways, rider welfare and wellbeing, and more.

Importantly, the committee will provide an opportunity for its members to develop governance skills and will provide an important bridge between the Board, current riders, and the sport’s alumni.

The new Committee Charter was approved by the Board on March 14 and applications to become an inaugural member of the committee are now open. The Charter can be found here.
